Wonderful Winter Festival

The evening weather was cool but not cold. The sunset was incredible, and there was no wind. In short, everything was just right.

And the 4th Annual Rossmoor Winter Festival delivered what was a simply delightful event. Thanks to the hard working RCSD Staff lead by
Chris Argueta and Romero and dozens of volunteers, the evening added holiday cheer to the season for the more than three thousand Rossmoor residents and local neighbors who filled the Rush Park event from before 6:00 p.m until well after 9:00 that evening.

The evening kicked off with RCSD President and LAEF King candidate Tony DeMarco welcoming the crowd to Rush Park. Of course Santa’s grand entrance via Engine 2 from the OCFA’s Los Alamitos station was a big hit with the younger members of the audience.

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Incoming State Assembly member Tyler Diep lead the countdown for a spectacular tree lighting ceremony and take to take photos with Santa and RCSD Board members Ron Casey, Tony DeMarco, and Mark Nitikman.

Lots of Activities & Fun

Once again the Trolley Car rides through Rossmoor to see the homes lighted for the holidays was a big hit with attendees keeping both trolley cars busy all night long. The school choirs kept the evening moving along and there were crafts, a fun photo booth, photos with Santa and the Snow Princesses Elsa and Ana were making many of the younger set very happy by posing for photos.

Of course the snow sliding was a big attraction (how often does it snow in Rossmoor anyway?) as were the Grinch, petting zoo, and the pony rides. The food trucks and espresso bar allowed people socialize and relax while visiting vendor booths and catch up with friends and neighbors.

All in all it was a wonderful evening for all who attended. We will see you next year on the second Friday of December for our 5th annual event. Until then, enjoy some photos from the evening.
