Sydney Forsyte is a senior at Los Alamitos High School. Outside of school, Sydney has been an intern with the Freedom Writers Foundation since the start of her junior year where
she works to empower teachers to make a difference. In conjunction with the Freedom Writers and Anne Frank LA, she raised the funds for and planned the Traveling Anne Frank
Exhibit’s visit to LAHS this past October.
Additionally, Sydney has been a part of the Journalism program for three years where she is a Section Editor and the Executive Producer of Griffin Gazette Live, the broadcast program. As a part of her passion for journalism, Sydney attended the New York Times Summer Institute in 2023. She is also a board member for several LAHS clubs, including Teens for Climate Club and Emerging Leaders Club, and is an active participant in National Honors Society and CSF. In her spare time, Sydney enjoys hanging out with her friends and taking her husky Charlie on walks.
The Rossmoor Woman’s Club is very proud to honor Sydney as their February 2025 Student of the Month with a $1,000 scholarship.
The Rossmoor Woman’s Club, founded in 1958, is a social and philanthropic organization affiliated with the international General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
