Join us for “Stay Smart, Stay Safe: A Family Guide to Fentanyl Awareness” on Thursday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. This important community event, hosted by Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Rossmoor Homeowners Association, features experts from the Orange County HealthCare Agency and is open to the entire community.

Learn about the risks of fentanyl, a potent and often hidden danger, including how to recognize its presence and prevent accidental exposure. 

This informative session will provide insights into the dramatic increase in fentanyl-related incidents and equip you and your family with essential tools to stay safe in today’s challenging environment.

Fentanyl is extraordinarily potent, and it takes only a tiny amount—just 2 milligrams, comparable in size to a few grains of table salt—to potentially cause a fatal overdose.

The event will delve into the ways fentanyl can inadvertently enter our homes and community, and the immediate actions to take if exposure is suspected. Understanding these critical details can be the difference between life and death. This gathering is not just an educational opportunity but an important safety measure for every family in Our Rossmoor.

There will be a brief training on the use of naloxone (trade name: Narcan) and following the training, packages of naloxone will be available to attendees at no cost.
