March 9th Special Election
Residents in Orange County’s 2nd Supervisorial District will have a special election for a new Supervisor to replace Michelle Steel who is now serving as the Congressional Representative for the 48th District here in Orange County.
The RHA is planning to host a Candidates night so we can all get to know the candidates prior to casting our votes. We are targeting Thursday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Additional details will follow.
Five candidates have qualified for the ballot:
- Katrina Foley
- John Moorlach
- Kevin Muldoon
- Janet Rappaport
- Michael Vo
Since supervisorial seats are nonpartisan, though it seems a number of the candidates have party backing, we will not be identifying candidates by party.
The winner of the special election will serve on the Orange County Board of Supervisors until 2022, completing the four-year term of former Supervisor Steel.
Ballots will be mailed to all voters in the district around Feb. 8. There are plans for up to 13 sites throughout the district opened for in-person voting. Most vote centers will be open for four days ending on election day.
If you have questions for the supervisor candidates, please submit them here.
We will collect the questions and consolidate them into either written questions or used during the live forum on Thursday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m.
