For the week of September 30-October 6, 2018, OC Sheriffs responded to 65 calls, a 25% weekly increase by 13 incidents. During the week, incident increases occurred in patrol checks (+10), suspicious vehicles/persons/circumstances (+7), burglary alarms (+6), prowler reports (+1), fraud reports (+1), bike stops (+1), pedestrian stops (+1), and abandoned vehicles (+1). Weekly call decreases occurred for disturbances (-3), welfare checks (-3), illegally parked vehicles (-3), keep the peace (-2), petty theft (-1), and traffic stops (-1). For 50 or 77% of this week’s reported incidents, OCSD officers conducted 14 patrol checks and responded to 15 traffic stops (with 13 stops between the hours of 8 PM and 2 AM), 11 suspicious person/vehicle/circumstances, 8 burglary alarms, 1 bike stop and 1 pedestrian stop. Citizen assistance was provided for 2 of this week’s incidents. Residents reporting incidents and OCSD officers responding to calls helped deter neighborhood criminal activity.
