During the week of September 16-22, 2018, OC Sheriffs responded to 57 incidents which is a 12% weekly decrease by 8 incidents (see September 16-22, 2018 Rossmoor Crime Report). This decrease was due to fewer illegal parking incidents (-8), burglary/robbery alarms (-4), fraud reports (-3), 9-1-1 hangup calls (-2), open doors (-2), disturbances (-2), and abandoned vehicles (-1). Weekly incident increases from the prior week occurred in suspicious person/circumstances (+4), investigate dead body (+1), petty thefts (+1), vandalism (+1), and welfare checks (+1). For 38 or 58.5% of this week’s reported incidents, OCSD officers conducted 6 patrol checks and responded to 19 traffic stops (with 17 stops between the hours of 8 PM and 1 AM), 8 suspicious person/vehicle/circumstances, and 5 burglary/robbery alarms. Citizen assistance was provided for 3 of this week’s incidents. Residents reporting incidents and OCSD officers responding to calls helped deter neighborhood criminal activity.
