Myles Agatep is an active member on the Los Alamitos High School (LAHS) campus in various culture and service based clubs and societies. As a member of the National Honors Society, Myles serves as leader of his service-project that seeks to improve mental health by engaging other students with different art mediums. He also participates as a member of the ASL Honors Society and helps tutor other ASL students and contributes towards advocating for the diffusion of Deaf culture. Outside of both societies, he has been President of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, or GSA, since sophomore year. With this year’s club, Myles hopes to engage his members in meaningful activities on campus to make changes which benefit both the LGBTQ+ community and support students overall.
Outside of school, Myles has participated in community-based volunteer work since freshman year at the LGBTQ+ Center of OC, located in Santa Ana. Passionate about civil engagement, Myles has been a part of leadership committees and education programs which seek to provide educational resources to the community, advocate for harm reduction services, and organize community-uniting events for all ages. Proud of his time spent at the LBGTQ+ Center, Myles is grateful to have earned Certificates of Recognition for Community Service from both the U.S. House of Representatives and the California State Senate and Assembly.
In addition to his academic interests, Myles is an AP 3D art student with a focus on ceramics and is working this year to complete his portfolio. Throughout his time at LAHS, he has also taken part in show choir, a drama production, and stepped in as an electric bass player for jazz students.
Myles is deeply interested in utilizing law and policy to assist him in improving and uplifting his community, specifically for individuals which have faced systematic disadvantages. With this passion in mind, Myles hopes to study Political Science and possibly pursue Law School in the future. He also plans to continue engaging with the arts and advancing in ceramics. He hopes to utilize his education to engage with socio-political issues and address inequities within his community and encourage other youth and young adults around him to do the same.

Among other things, the club raises money to support local charities and to fund scholarships for LAHS students through two major annual fundraisers: Holiday Home Tour on the first Sunday in December (this year is on Sunday, December 5, 2026) and the spring Rossmoor Garden Tour, which held on the 3rd Sunday in May each year.
