2021 has been a year of continued adjustments and adaptations. People for the most part are back to work, even if that work is different than just a few years ago. We have overcome many challenges and we will likely see more as we move forward. Change is an important part of life. And resist as we may, change will always be with us.
Something that has not changed is looking forward to the holidays. The good times and the relationships we share are what make the holiday so special.
Except, perhaps, if those families are in need of a helping hand. Every year there are families in our community that need a little boost. Especially those families that have children. It’s always nice to take our turn to give back as we can and these kids need our help.
This is why the Rossmoor Homeowners Association in partnership with Ganahl Lumber and the Friends of the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library are sponsoring the Rossmoor Holiday Toy Drive to benefit The Youth Center in Los Alamitos.
The Rossmoor Holiday Toy Drive is simple.
You have two ways to participate:
The easiest way is to make a donation directly to The Youth Center and let them take care of buying the gift cards that are most needed.
Drop off a gift card (from Target, Ralphs, Vons, or Wal-Mart) or a new, unwrapped gift to either the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library (the Friends of the Library have the donation box on the Patio), Ganahl Lumber (box is in the front by the registers) or at The Youth Center offices during business hours between November 1st and November 30th. Toys should be for ages 3 to 17 as this year the Youth Center is helping more than 100 families in need.
If you would like to adopt a family for the holidays, the Youth Center has an adopt-a-family program that has many more deserving families in need than generous individuals or families available to help. Find out more about the program here.
