OC Sheriffs responded to 69 calls during the week of October 14-20, 2018, a 38% weekly increase by 19 incidents. Call increases occurred in patrol checks (+23), assist outside agencies (+4), bike stops (+1), burglary reports (+1), found property (+1), ID theft (+1), and investigate person down (+1). Decreases occurred in abandoned vehicle (-5), burglary alarm-audible (-2), illegal parked vehicles (-2), property for destruction (-2), disturbances (-1), shots heard-no suspect information (-1), and suspicious person/circumstances/vehicles (-1). For 50 or 72% of this week’s reported incidents, OCSD officers conducted 31 patrol checks and responded to 5 traffic stops, 6 suspicious person/vehicle/circumstances, 6 burglary alarms, and 2 bike stops. Citizen assistance was provided for 2 of this week’s incidents. Residents reporting incidents and OCSD officers responding to calls helped deter neighborhood criminal activity.
