Nathan Searles Completes the Boston Marathon

Today, our neighbor and RCSD Director Nathan Searles completed the Boston Marathon – and that is a huge accomplishment.

As we noted back in July, to run in this prestigious road race you must qualify and the event organizer, the Boston Marathon Association turns away thousands of applications every year. They have to know you are able to complete the course based on your times in other qualifying races.

Nathan’s run was completed in 3:12:27 averaging 7:37 minutes per mile over the 26.2-mile course.

Congrats to Nathan and his family for making this dream a reality and having the dedication to finish the journey!

Nathan shared some background on his running career here on his Facebook page.

The sign above was made by a Wellesley College student from Rossmoor and posted on the Marathon route for Nathan. Wellesley College is at the midway point of the Marathon and it’s an annual tradition for students there to make posters for race day.
