The RHA believes the future is bright given the leadership of the 14 outstanding students recognized at The Youth Center’s A Night Among the Stars award banquet this past Saturday evening. Congratulations to each of these outstanding young leaders.
RHA Director Denise Miller had the honor and privilege to present the Stellar RHA Award to a remarkable nominee: Lexi Blankenstein.
Lexi volunteered each of her three middle school summers to the Los Alamitos Education Foundation’s (LAEF) Summer Enrichment Institute as a classroom assistant. As she grew older, she continued to volunteer by assisting teachers and administrative staff. As a high school student, Lexi served as a Summer Administrative Intern with LAEF for three years. Apparently, Lexi has a talent for manipulating data and did so flawlessly by managing the requests and schedules of up to 420 children during each of the summer LAEF sessions. Lexi is wrapping up her years of service with LAEF as the Student Advisor on the LAEF Board of Directors. Her final gift to LAEF was to train her replacement!
In addition to her longtime commitment to our school district’s non-profit, Lexi is a stellar student. She has completed 13 Advanced Placement courses as she prepares for life after high school. She is also a Captain of the Los Al Show Choir and was the technology lead three days a week for the Choir. This young woman is also a member of the National Charity League and lends a hand at the High School’s Wellness Center.
Once again congratulations to each of these outstanding young people.
We would like to thank The Youch Center for creating and organizing this time-honored event and salute the community organizations who also provided $500 scholarships during the event: Rossmoor Woman’s Club, Rotary Club of Los Alamitos/Seal Beach, and Seal Beach Lions Club.
