In light of the increased air travel going over Rossmoor due to runway repairs at Long Beach Airport, we thought it would be good to give you an opportunity to voice your opinion and make your thoughts count with the FAA.

The Long Beach Airport will see some temporary runway closures as the facility undergoes major electrical upgrades.

Airplane Noise In Rossmoor &Amp; Los Alamitos

The FAA comment period runs from May 1 to July 31, 2023

The $9.5 million project, which seeks to improve the safety of the airport’s primary runway, will result in temporary runway closures beginning in late March and lasting through mid-July.

During this time period, the airport’s primary runway will be closed nightly Sundays through Thursdays. It will also be closed daily Tuesdays and Wednesdays from April 18 to May 24.

During the closures, flights will be rerouted to use the airport’s secondary runway. This means the planes fly over Seal Beach, Rossmoor, and Los Alamitos on their way to land at Long Beach.

FAA Public Comment Period
